Getting to Whidbey

So far, this is a copy and paste from my mom's email, though hopefully I will go through and edit and format and add to it soon...

Easiest and usually fastest:
Whidbey shuttle. 360-679-4003 www.whidbeyshuttle.comMust make reservations ahead as it fills up. $38 each way for adults. It leaves on the even hours from the south end of baggage level. The shuttle is the first one on the ferry and goes right to greenbank store, only a mile from the house.

Next easiest and cheaper for 2 or more:
Shuttle express. Www.shuttleexpress.com 425-981-7000. $66 for a group of 4 adults to mukilteo ferry, and another $5 each for the ferry ride. Best to call and book ahead and ask for rideshare. It leaves from the third floor of the parking garage from their kiosk. Flexible departures based on when you check in at kiosk and when shared riders fill a van. Takes you right to the ferry to walk on, and a free bus meets the ferry on the Clinton side to take you to Freeland.

Cheapest and easy weekdays:
For only $8.50 you catch the light rail train from the 4th floor of terminal to Chinatown, one stop past stadium. Then walk 2 blocks to sounder train, which goes right to the ferry.

Cheapest but 3+ hours after 5pm and weekends:
Take the light rail to Chinatown, then walk 2 blocks to catch bus #512 to ash way, transfer to bus #13 at bay 2 to the ferry.

Most expensiverent a car from enterprise, and return it at the oak harbour office. For one day rental it costs about $200, so a rental is only reasonable if you are coming for a short visit and returning to the airport. And why would anyone want to do that? With all the fun that can be found on Whidbey!
